Stefan Lakkas architect AvB BNA has been educated at the Academy of Architecture (AvB) of Arnhem and the High Technical School (HTS) of Zwolle. The AvB provides aesthetical/creative qualities, HTS the architectional/technical qualities needed to perform the profession of architect.

Having worked at several large and smaller architectural offices in the Netherlands, Stefan started his own office SL studio for architecture in 1993. He has been designing and realising several projects in house- and utility-building since. When wanted, Stefan can make a program of demands, give colour- and interor advice, do preliminary investigation or make a garden design.

By writing editorial articles about architecture and building, Stefan transfers information to consumers and colleagues. By doing this he collects knowledge of the newest developments and materials in building.

The designs made are visualised using maquettes and computeranimations, so privat persons and companies can get an optimal view in the design.

While designing, Stefan usualy begins with a concept, which originates from an impression or a certain view. This concept is discussed whith the principal and worked out into a provisional design. After consulting the principal, the provisional design is being adjusted and perfected into a definate design. For this workingmethod an inspiring principal is needed, a principal that begins a dialogue with the architect and wants to come to a “ideal” design together with the architect.
